Moose are large deer species that live in northern parts of North America, Europe, and Russia. They inhabit forests and swampy marshes. Newborn moose have red-brown fur and can weigh over 300 pounds after just a few weeks. Moose eat various plants depending on the season, including tall grass, shrubs, and tree branches. They are excellent swimmers and some migrate long distances between summer and winter habitats.
