Happy with it. It’s just a coffee maker you know, February 20, 2011

I searched all around for reviews on coffee makers before buying one. I was looking
before my husband broke the carafe and then, oh darn, I had to get one right away.
Reviews can be a pain, some people love things and others say they are horrible. So I
figured I’d just go for it and return it if I didn’t like it.
I didn’t give it 5 stars only because it’s loud during the last 2 cups of brewing. But, I
think all coffee pots are that way. Someone said they hated the beeps that it made at the
end of brewing, that he didn’t want an alarm clock. I don’t know what he was thinking
that he didn’t complain about how loud the brewing was over the very soft beeps. They
don’t bother me.
The carafe is great — it doesn’t leak. It’s easy to use. As for timing, it takes 12 minutes
to brew a 12 cup pot and it lets you take a cup out before it’s done if you can’t wait that
long. This pot and others have a brewing option to alter how strong the coffee is to suit
your needs. Interesting that they have regular and strong but they don’t offer a weak
option. For those of us that like milder coffee we just get to add less coffee and save
money
The price is right and I would recommend this to anyone.

This coffee maker replaced two Cuisinart coffee makers that both broke in the warranty
period. I am as happy, if not happier, with this coffee maker. The coffee is very good
and it is easy to use. Coffee is plenty hot and plenty strong. I would recommend it to
anyone. It is a very good value and seems to be of decent quality. Why pay more for
appliances that simply cost more and are not any better? I am a born again appliance
purchaser. Frankly, I think it’s ALL pretty cheap so why pay more for the expensive
brands that are no better?

Pouring is No Problem, April 9, 2011

I bought a Mr. Coffee JWX31 because it was priced well and our last Mr Coffee was
reliable for years. We switched from Mr Coffee to Krups when we dropped the carafe
and broke the glass. Krups looks nice but the stainless steel pot does not keep the coffee
any hotter – marketing scam. Admittedly, Krups lasted a decent number of years before
breaking down on us last week. So we’re back to Mr Coffee and thought the JWX31
looks nice, makes 12 cups and has reasonable features for the price. Then we saw the
few complaints about the pour being too messy and were about to return it. Just to be
sure, we filled the carafe w/ water and it POURS FINE. Carafe is completely dry on the
outside – no mess or leaking from the sides of the spout. Tried pouring it slower or faster
4. and still no mess. Not sure why the others had a problem. We’re very happy w/ our
purchase.
