3. The beginning
Walter Elias Disney was born in Chicago,
Illinois
on December 5 1901. When he was four
the whole family moved to Missouri, and
this is when he began to draw. In 1917
the family moved back to Chicago and
Walt began classes at the Chicago
Academy of Fine Arts.
4. In 1923 Walter moved to Los Angelas,
California . While there him and his
brother Roy started the Walt Disney
Company. There they began making
short animated cartoons. One of his
productions is Snow White and the
Seven Dwarfs, and for this Walt received
an Academy Award . This award was
presented by Shirley Temple.

December 15,1966 of lung
cancer, he was 65. After
he died the whole world
was sad all they kept
wondering was if the
company would survive
without him. And in the
end it did.

I chose this person because hes a person that
changed the way movies and cartoons were
made, he began animation, and succeeded.
11. How does this person have an effect
on today’s society?
His legacy has an affect on society. Walt never
thought that all his movies and Disney World
would still be developing today. His vision was
bigger than he ever thought it was. All of his
movies produced merchandise that is used by
kids and adults. Walt Disney created jobs
through his amusement parks, and drawings
that were used for later productions.

I think Walt is important because
he changed the way movies are
made. Also his movies teach
about love, friendship, family, and
honor.
