Nightlight a parody by the harvard lampoon a hysterically hilarious parody!!!
1. Nightlight: A Parody by The Harvard
Lampoon
Hilarious!
About three things I was absolutely certain. First, Edwart was most likely
my soul mate, maybe. Second, there was a vampire part of him–which I
assumed was wildly out of his control–that wanted me dead. And third, I
unconditionally, irrevocably, impenetrably, heterogeneously,
gynecologically, and disreputably wished he had kissed me.
And thus Belle Goose falls in love with the mysterious and sparkly Edwart
Mullen in the Harvard Lampoon’s hilarious send-up of Twilight.
Pale and klutzy, Belle arrives in Switchblade, Oregon looking for
adventure, or at least an undead classmate. She soon discovers Edwart, a
2. super-hot computer nerd with zero interest in girls. After witnessing a
number of strange events–Edwart leaves his tater tots untouched at lunch!
Edwart saves her from a flying snowball!–Belle has a dramatic revelation:
Edwart is a vampire. But how can she convince Edwart to bite her and
transform her into his eternal bride, especially when he seems to find girls
so repulsive?
Complete with romance, danger, insufficient parental guardianship, creepy
stalker-like behavior, and a vampire prom, Nightlight is the uproarious tale
of a vampire-obsessed girl, looking for love in all the wrong places.
From the Trade Paperback edition.
Personal Review: Nightlight: A Parody by The Harvard Lampoon
Well I am one of the people who DESPISES Twilight. That sai d, when I
was in the bookstore last Saturday, I found it and nearly died from laughing
so hard just looking at the cover. So I immediately ran to the cashier and
bought it. This was a very quick read, but what a fantastic quick read it
was! If you hate Twilight, or even like it, I guarantee you will laugh very
hard with this hilarious book.
In this book, Belle Goose is a young teenage girl who once lived in
Phoenix with her mom, but now moves to the town of Switchblade,
Oregon. Her dad gives her a U-Haul truck as a way of Transport. On her
first day at school she sees Edwart Mullen, a computer nerd who is
asexual. HOwever, that doesn't stop Belle from falling in love with him.
However she does some research and finds out that Edwart is a vampire,
and wants to become one too. But alas, it's hard to when Edwart's
mysogyny gets to him!
Nightlight is HI-LARIOUS. The Harvard Lampoon does a fantastic job
parodying the source material. One thing they do is manage to poke fun at
Steph's writing- on the first page alone, 12 adjectives are used! She also
makes fun of Meyer's overflowing the pages with info on how "hot" Edward
is. Every single thing about Twilight has the piss taken out of it, and for that
reason, it just makes it hilarious.
So if you want a good Twilight parody, be sure to pick up Nightlight!
