Contact: Jane Lovascio FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 201 463-6801 [email_address] Children’s Book Author Jane Lovascio Is Making a Child’s Dream Come True Noted author will select one child’s story as the winner of The Casey and Bella Story Contest, which will be published as the next book in the series. West New York, NJ, October 23, 2008. It’s something that every young aspiring author dreams of – to have their own story published for the world to read. And CuddlyBooks, Inc., along with noted children’s author Jane Lovascio, is making that dream a reality by launching The Casey and Bella Story Contest, a national children’s writing contest. The contest not only offers third and fourth graders the chance to have their story professionally published, but the winner’s story will actually be the next book in the Casey and Bella series of children’s books. “ We are always looking for creative ways to encourage children to read and write.” said Lana Statella, a third grade teacher at Veteran’s Memorial Elementary School “I think it is wonderful that an author is going to publish a child’s story as part of a book series. Not only will it inspire many more children to write, but it shows children that anything is possible in life.” The idea for the contest came to Lovascio while doing book readings at schools in the New York and New Jersey area. After each reading, children were excited to share their own Casey and Bella adventure ideas. “Children are extremely creative with endless imaginations” said an enthused Lovascio “and I wanted to give them the chance to use their talents and reward their efforts with this contest.” When the contest ends in the spring, four finalists will be chosen, and the winner selected from those four. The author will travel to the four schools of the finalists to present a plaque and honor their work. The winner will receive a cash prize and be credited for the story idea on the dedication page inside the book, which will be the third book in the Casey and Bella series. The first two books in the series include: Casey and Bella Go to New York City, and Casey and Bella Go to Hollywood. The series is noted for its lovable characters, and also for its charity work, with a portion of each book’s proceeds donated to not-for-profit charities that help children. Casey and Bella are also the author’s real dogs. Casey is a Jack Russell Terrier, and Bella is a Tea Cup Yorkie. Casey and Bella books are available in retail stores nationwide, and online at www.CaseyandBella.com . To learn more about the Casey and Bella Story Contest visit www.CuddlyBooks.com .
