Profile of Kagaya Yutaka
A Japanese digital fine artist. Born in 1968, he
has created artworks relating to the universe in-
cluding CG animation pictures, digital prints,
posters, illustrations for astronomical books and
magazines.
Studies:
When he was a student, he became truly inter-
ested in the use of computers while wishing to
become an atronomer or an illustrator.
Technique:
He draws with water colors, color pencil and
digital techniques.
Inspiration:
He likes the astronomy and mythology, so he
uses this topic for his inspiration because is
the most exciting for him.

Japan.

“Some years ago, when I took a trip to Iriomote island in Okinawa, I happened
to see stars reflecting perfectly on the surface of the sea of the inlet. It was so
fascinatingly. At this fancy sight I felt as if I were rolling a boat on the great
river of Milky Way.” says Kagaya
