Combining tens and singles
To read number in Japanese, just read pairs of digits
(2,3,…) and units (10,20,…).
For example, the number 25 is pronounced as
に“ni” じゅう“juu” ご“go”, which means 2x10 + 5.
If a digit is one, just say only the unit.
