1. Objects of reference
Objects of reference should be used for children who need an additional cue before
going to a specific room or activity, over and above a general verbal or symbol
instruction.
When going to the appropriate room present the object of reference to the child, use
the appropriate key word, encourage the child and allow them time to explore the
object.
