Philippine Painter Wilfredo Alicdan

31. Wilfredo Alicdan is a painter born in the city of Dasmariñas, Cavite, Philippines.
Retratrar study Filipino women at the University Institute of Arts Major in
Painting. What Wilfredo canvases have been distinguished for its popular colorful and
geometric representations, full of rounded and stylized figures involved in traditional
activities and rural genre. The canvases of Alicdan bring a sense of harmony between
the contrast of formal elements, while its use of solid and backgrounds flat colors
reinforces the second dimension of his paintings, use a subtle pattern infuses his
figures with rounded plasticity.
Alicdan is a founding member of Anting-Anting Group of Artists. Also, this artist of
great heart provides a great help and support UNICEF lending their works to be
reproduced as Unicef cards, and so raise funds for the benefit of all children in the
world.
