5. Borrowing
Find what you need by searching the Library Catalogue –TAFEcat - at any
computer in the Library or from home.
There’s an enormous amount of material available to support your studies
- books, CDs, DVDs, journal articles and more.
Use TAFEcat to find what you need first, then use the location info to find if
it is available and where it is located.

6. Borrowing - Information Desk
Once you’ve found what you need see our friendly staff at the Information
Desk.
Don’t forget your TAFE card – you’ll need it to borrow, print, copy and
more.

7. Borrowing – Special Reserve
Special Reserve items are high demand items that your teacher has
selected for limited loans of usually 2 hours.
Take the call number for the item you need to the Information Desk.

8. Borrowing – Resources not available in the Library
If the item you need isn’t on the shelf you can…
..place a reservation at the Information Desk ..
..request an Interlibrary loan from another TAFE Campus ..
..visit and borrow from any TAFE Campus in NSW.

9. Assignment resources - Books
The Library has the resources you need to do your research and complete
your assignments. The obvious option is to look for a book.
These are located on Library shelves and found using call numbers.
Don’t worry if you can’t find what you’re looking for…just ask!

Journals are another great source of information.
They are located in the Library Collection and many more are available
online via TAFEcat or the Library’s eResources page.

Computers are located in the Library and you are welcome to use them for
your studies. Book at the Information Desk. You can use the
computers to…
..research your assignments –
..access a wide range of electronic and web-based resources –
..use lots of different software applications (such as MS Office) –
..print your documents through printers networked around the Library.
A portable USB device is great for safely storing your files!

You can also bring your own laptop to the Library and make use of large
study desks and easy access to power points.
..set your computer up for TAFE wireless network access and log on from
anywhere on Campus!

Printing and photocopying facilities are available in the Library.
