2. The story takes place in
Vienna after the WWII
in 1947 (beginnings of
the Cold War).
Due to the continuous
and massive
bombardments over
Vienna during the
Second World War, the
city is shown in ruins.

3. In it is shown clearly this situation:
• Consequences of the war in society
• Division of Austria
• Black market (illegal market) between
Austrian inhabitants

4. Vienna was divided into four "areas". Each of them was
governed by one of the Allied Forces.

5.  An economical crisis is sacking Europe (especially
Austria) after the WWII.
 Black market becomes important and people buy
without paying taxes to the government.
 The no relations between Austria and other countries
make this illegal market more important. (It started in
the underground)

6. • Although the WWII finished in 1945, lots of films
have been recorded about after it.
Examples of them are the famous films:
- Germany, Year Zero (1948 by Rosellini)
-How I Dr. Strangelove (1964 by Stanley Kubrick)
-One, two, three Billy Wilder(1961 by Billy Wilder)
