1. Planning my shots In order to plan my shots, I decided to create a storyboard so I can get all my ideas down on page. The purpose of this is so I am planned for every filming session I do
2.
3. There will then be a straight in close up shot of my artist’s face. The big difference in shot changes will immediately give the video a harsh edge, and the audience would know that something bad has happened to the girl.
4. Lily will take a necklace out of her pocket and look at this. The audience would wonder what the significance of the necklace is. There will be a point of view shot of the necklace in her hand, this would give a personal perspective and make the audience feel like they are involved.
5. Lily will then sigh with a medium close up shot, so the audience can clearly see her facial expression.
6. The next shot she will drop the necklace in the grass, with a medium long shot. The medium long shot is so the audience can see her body language (which wll be slumped) and facial expression.
7.
8. The next line is “every time I have to watch other people kissing”. I will take this line literally and have a couple walking past her , this will be a medium long shot so we can see that they are a couple by the way they are holding hands.
9. There will then be a medium close up shot of Lily singing the lines. Medium close up because I would like my audience to see her facial expression at the same time
10. To add variety to this part of this video, I will have a medium profile close up shot of my artist walking and singing the lines. I would like this shot to almost look like she is talking to someone particular. I will show this by the way it will be a slightly high-angle shot so she will be looking up (perhaps her old lover)
11. I will then have my artist lying in the grass and autumn leaves, singing the lines ‘dreams, dreams..’ etc. This will reflect the fact that she is day dreaming and thinking. I will tilt the camera around her to add movement to the shot. This will be a medium close up shot.
12.
13. Then next shot will be of the couple walking away from the camera. This is so I can immediately establish the costuming for the audience and to show the relationship between the two characters. The camera will be still to show the couple’s freedom.
14. Every so often in the video, there will be cuts to my narrative part of the video, and this is what this shot is. They are normally medium close up shots because the facial expressions are very important.
15. I will have shot sequences showing how good the couples relationship was. They will be playing about and most of these shots will be medium long shots, this will show the body language and how happy they are to be together.
16. This next shot is an example of a medium close up shot I will use to show how much they love each other.
17.
18. The male lead will kiss Lily on the cheek, This will be a medium close up shot so we can see exactly what he is doing.
19. I will have an over the shoulder shot of Lily waving, as he will be walking away and waving back.
20. The next line is “when I discovered all your dirty, grotty magazines”, this will be where my artist finds the magazines. I would like to use an over the shoulder shot of her finding the magazines
21.
22. I will then literally have a close up shot of the two holding hands
23. This shot will be a long shot of them both sitting on a romantic bench in the park
24. I would like the next shot to be a classic, over the shoulder shot of my male lead putting on her necklace, the audience would see this in the mirror.
25. There will then be a close up shot of the necklace itself, to show the significance of it
26.
27. I will probably then have a narrative shot to show the sadness in Lily’s face in the present day, this will give the audience an impression that something bad it about to happen. This will be a medium close up shot.
28. Back to the scene of the last good times between the couple. I will have Lily mime “I wonder if you have the same dreams too”. This will be an over the shoulder, medium close up shot
29. I will have a close up of the door handle Lily will open, this will represent the significance of the moment.
30. I will have a medium long shot of Lily finding out what is going on. This will show her body language and her facial expression very well. Although, even by this point the audience will not know what she is upset about
31.
32. I will then have a shot of the boyfriend’s reaction to because found out, he will be sad and defensive with his arms up. This shot will be a medium long shot
33. For the next couple of shots, I will have a shot-reverse-shot sequence in order to show my audience the pain the two characters are going through. The audience will be able to see their reactions. These will be medium long shots
34. Lily will then be running down the stairs whilst her ex boyfriend is in the background. This will be a long shot so we can see the movement within the shot
35. There will then be a long shot of Lily in the corridor, leaving with her bag
