Elizabethan class system of clothing Elizabethan costume was period in English history by the class structure if people lived in the Elizabethan times you couldn`t wear what ever you want to wear if you do wear what ever you want when you will be killed.  Wealthy people had to wear rich clothes like rich fabric and rich colours to make them not the same as poor people this was the English law. The law was about clothing in the Elizabethan era were called Sumptuary Laws and the law was as a Elizabethan class system. Elizabethan men only wore clothes that they were allowed to wear by the law.
 Elizabethan colours Many people of the Elizabethan period as to understood the meaning of different colour clothing like poor people can only wear poor colours not rich colours. But the rich colour in that period was purple had been the royalty colour of the roman Emperors. Every colour had meaning during the Elizabethan era and this is understood by the audience. The colours of the actor has to be the same as the clothing like the Elizabethan time. The materials and fabrics would have similar effect. The fabric, materials, colour and the clothing as to be the same role of the character that they are playing. Elizabethan Nobles and Upper classes wore clothing made of velvets, furs, silks, lace, cottons and taffeta. In the Elizabethan period men only was allowed in the stage in the Elizabethan times but not women. Also men played girl part in the show and they don`t show their face so they had to wear mask for the show.
