What are the Basic Components of Fitness


Physical fitness is an imperative component, which determines shape and condition of your body. So if
you think of developing good health for better living, it’s easier for you to work on each individual part of
your body. Fitness lies in healthy routine and regular dose of exercises, which can lead to great balance
in your body.


So if you really feel its significance in your life and your health, it’s important to keep constant balance of
life itself. In order to achieve balance in your life, one should understand major physical fitness
components and their importance in your daily life. Few basic components of healthy life are:



    •   Cardiovascular Endurance: When you breathe heavenly while jogging or doing any physical
        work, this means you have low cardiovascular endurance. It’s essential for one’s heart’s ability to
        energize your body by giving it more oxygen. One can improve their cardiovascular performance
        through jogging, cycling or swimming. Benefits of having strong cardiovascular endurance are
        more energy and improved sound sleep.



    •   Muscular performance: Muscular strength comprises of physical ability to push and move
        weight. The stronger you feel is directly proportional to your ability to move weight easily. In order
        to improve your muscle strength one need to focus on their upper body, lower body and core of
        optimum levels of strength.



    •   Muscular endurance: This is your muscle tendency to continue pumping force without
        exhaustion. The best way to improve your strength endurance is through cycling with a low-
        resistance bicycle. It improves overall strength and promotes a healthier heart. This is a vital
        piece of the 5 basic components of physical fitness.



    •   Bodily composition: Also known as body fat percentage, maintaining your body composition
        helps maintain a healthy fat to lean mass ratio for fitness. For men it’s good to under 12% body
        fat, while women is good to have under 17% body fat for optimum fitness performance.



    •   Body flexibility: This contributes to the ability to stretch and flex through a wider range.
        Flexibility is really important because it helps in increasing strength, speed, and overall
        endurance. Lacking in flexibility can hinder the other fitness areas.



These are essential physical components that can affect your human performance so increase your
speed and lacking strength.
