2. 1. Did you relate to the main character or
feel empathetic towards him?
18 of the 22 said they did, 4 said no. This
differs from the video response feedback,
where our target audience (TA) said they
did not feel empathetic towards him, the
survey monkey respondents said they did
feel associated with the main character,
but it is to note that not all of them did.
3. 2. Did you understand the story? If so try to explain it in a
few sentences.
12 of the 22 said they did understand the story line, but
once asked to explain it none got the story completely
accurate and only a few got it close. "The man, who I
don't know the name off stole from people. He was
caught, shot the two men dead and got away." as you
can see, they got the basic ideas of story line where
main character, James Edge, steals the documents, but
did not understand the actual meaning behind what he
was doing. Thus we should've made the story line
clearer and more pronounced, so that people could
actually decipher the meanings of the story line.
4. 3. Did you find the story went at a too fast
pace?
16 of the 22 said it was. Despite what our TA
said in the video, many people did find it
was too fast at times, possibly for the
reasons raised in the video where parts
were "too slow" and others "too fast".
5. 4. Did you find the costumes that the actors wore suited
their roles in the film? If not, what would you change?
14 of the 22 said they found they suited. And they gave
mostly good reasons for this, however many did not think
the same with good reasons as well. "No. The bad guys
looked too normal, I mean. You couldn't differ them, and
I'm not exactly sure if they were just school students or
agents from some company." Here are relevant points,
the costumes were not accurate enough and looked too
much like the students the actors actually were, thus we
should've made the costumes more accurate to police
officers, as this ruined the mise-en-scene.
6. 5. Did you understand the significance of the
folder?
Only 8 of the 22 thought they understood the
significance of the folder. This is a major flaw in
the design of our piece, the folders meaning
should've been improved, and made clearer for
the audience to understand. This could've been
achieved with some extra scenes highlighting its
importance.
7. 6. Does the main character seem good or evil?
And why?
People were highly disputed over whether he was
good or evil. The majority believed that he was
actually evil rather than good, "I thought he was
good, because he looked like the good guy in
the movie, but then he shot two people and then
I thought he was evil" the gun shot scene does
appear to make alot of the audience believe he
goes from good to evil and people find it hard,
after that, to understand that he is good after
that rather than evil. Thus perhaps the scene
should have been de-sensitised or made less
key to the story line.
