Recommendations on how to improve the facility at Subway • Customers pay for meal first. • Customers then receive their cup (if purchased) and cookies (if purchased). • Left of the register, customers will choose their bread, meat, cheese, choice of heated or not. • Sandwich will be transferred from oven to the customer, on the right side of the register, in the vegetable lane. • Open window, customers can openly pick vegetables/ingredients, dressing and place it on their sandwich. Like a salad bar, potato bar. • Customer can fill their drinks after their meal has been prepped.

- 6. Explanation • I chose to try a different approach on the facility layout. More of a salad bar setting. Mainly, because customers are picky. Many prefer certain amounts of veggies and dressing. This will allow customers to openly engage in what they desire to put on their sandwich. • By incorporating this technique, will increase revenue, if area is kept clean and employees stay attentive. • Created more work space for the employee. • Used less tables and booths. • I chose this particular layout to minimize employee hiring. Not sure if it would work during peak hours. But worth a try! • I did have to go into deep thought and detail with this particular assignment, which I hope you enjoyed!
