8:50 - 10:00 pm Panel Discussion: Advancing Social Entrepreneurship at Mason

Mason George Mason University has always been a center for
innovation. Today, it is leading a movement to bring social
ChangeMakers innovation to higher education by bringing together students,
faculty, practitioners, and philanthropists to create effective
partnerships for sustainable social change. In 2008, GMU was selected a “Changemaker
Campus,” by Ashoka, one of the world’s leading organizations for social entrepreneurship.
The panel will discuss GMU’s role as a Changemaker Campus and current opportunities for
social innovation at GMU, including:

         • “What’s next” for social innovation at Mason
         • Mason’s own student-consulting group, Social Venture Consulting
         • The development of a Center for Social Innovation at GMU
         • Upcoming conferences and opportunities for student research
         • Ways to engage with local nonprofits
         • Social media outlets
