Research is brown and like sky diving

2. Research is a lot like skydiving –

3. When you’re about to jump,
you suddenly feel unsure of yourself
or what you’re doing.
Sometimes you even need a little push to start.

4. More often than not,
you’ll need good company
for moral support.

5. You take the leap and dive
in a pool of mixed feelings.
But then you begin to appreciate
you take comfort in that.
what’s in front of you, and

6. Although at times
in the middle of it all,
you feel like just giving up –
remember to humor yourself.

7. You will eventually, inevitably,
learn to enjoy what you’re doing.

8. When you’ve gotten used
to the whole process
and finally reach the end –

9. you will feel, beyond doubt,

10. If research were a color, it would be
because it is seldom anybody’s favorite.
Similar to sashimi, research is an acquired taste ;
you need to put more than usual attention to it
to be able to fully appreciate its beauty.
