Who We Are…

HISTORY

The National Black MBA Association was created in 1970 by a group of
MBA candidates from the University of Chicago. Their mission was to
establish a premier organization for African-American students and
professionals to network and enhance their professional careers. As a
result of their commitment, hard work and dedication, the Association has
established 45 professional chapters, 27 collegiate chapters, and one
international chapter in Toronto, Canada.

In 1976, visionary African-American MBA professionals founded the "Black
MBA Association of Washington, D.C." This group became a member of
the National Black MBA Association, Inc. (NBMBAA) in 1982. Today, the
Washington, D.C. Chapter has a membership of more than 800, and is the
second largest chapter of the Association.
