The document describes a 3-part methodology for selecting sustainable land management (SLM) practices through participatory processes. Part I uses workshops to identify existing and potential SLM strategies. Part II assesses strategies using standardized questionnaires. Part III selects the most promising strategies with decision support tools in another workshop. The methodology guides agricultural advisors and others to select locally-adapted SLM practices through collaborative learning and evaluation of social, economic, and environmental impacts.
