• By Phone or Email
  – The Trainer/TA Specialist assigned to each service area is
    available by email. They work 210 days throughout the
    year, so they may not be available immediately.
  – A Trainer/TA Specialist is “on-call” almost every day,
    M-F, during business hours.
• In-Person Technical Assistance
  – Not the same as a training (shorter time, smaller number
    of participants, discussion format, specific to service
    area)
  – Requests can be made through the Trainer/TA Specialists.
      • Priority is given to service areas that are focus monitored or
        have findings.
  – Started tracking this year:
      • 97 hours at 15 different sites with 301 participants

Each of these trainings is intended to be a brief overview
    of an important core topics regarding Early On.
• Easy access
  – Moving all to new training system we developed using Adobe
    Presenter (moving from Blackboard).
  – Register at any time and immediately receive a link to the content.
  – Can revisit that training using that link at any time – if you are a
    subscriber on our website (www.eotta.ccresa.org)

• Cost
  – All on-line “core” trainings are FREE to participants

  – New staff
  – Review for seasoned staff

Each of these trainings will provide Early On staff
with in-depth content regarding the implementation
   of the core components of early intervention.
• Access
  – Each training will be offered in 5 places throughout
    Michigan each year.
  – Early On Coordinators will be surveyed in May to
    collect data on interest and need.
• Cost
  – Five (5) offerings of each will be free to participants.
  – For requests beyond those 5 or tailored for specific
    services areas, participants may be asked to help
    cover costs.

• Intended Audience
  – These trainings are appropriate for staff who have learned the basics
    (on-line content) and have a bit of actual experience.
  – It is recommended that all staff attend most of these trainings every
    few years to maintain their “core” knowledge and skills.
• “Core” Trainings
  –   Early On: More than Rules (EO Institute with new format & focus)
  –   Procedural Safeguards
  –   Transition
  –   Family & Child Outcomes
  –   Thinking Functionally: Meeting the Unique Needs of Children and
      their Families
• Availability
  – Each of these trainings either has or is in the process of being updated. The
    schedule for these offerings will be available by June 17, 2011.

These are trainings on topics beyond “core” issues.
    These are generally for staff that are either
  specialized or have been in the field at least a
                  couple of years.
• Access
  – These trainings will be scheduled as need is
    expressed.
  – A survey of training needs will be collected
    during May 2011.
• Cost
  – Each of these trainings has a fee. The fees are
    supplemented through EOT&TA resources.

  – Specialists (evaluators, working with preemies, etc.)
  – Seasoned staff

• Current Offerings:
  – IDA – in the process of being revised (using ARRA funds)
       •   First of the new format will be held August 25, 2011
  –   IDA Refresher
  –   Knowing Ourselves and Connecting with Families
  –   The Dance of Partnership
  –   Compassion Fatigue
  –   Supporting Families with Premature Babies
       •   Revised using ARRA funds
       •   Currently being piloted

• Availability
  – Each of these trainings are available now and scheduled as requested by
    a service area.
  – Following survey (May 2011) – a preliminary schedule will be offered
    this spring for 2011-2012.

  – Support of LEA’s with local
    outreach and technical assistance

They work 210 days throughout the year, so they may not be available immediately. – A Trainer/TA Specialist is “on-call” almost every day, M-F, during business hours. • In-Person Technical Assistance – Not the same as a training (shorter time, smaller number of participants, discussion format, specific to service area) – Requests can be made through the Trainer/TA Specialists. • Priority is given to service areas that are focus monitored or have findings. – Started tracking this year: • 97 hours at 15 different sites with 301 participants Clinton County RESA Office of Innovative 8 Projects · 2011

Each of these trainings will provide Early On staff with in-depth content regarding the implementation of the core components of early intervention. • Access – Each training will be offered in 5 places throughout Michigan each year. – Early On Coordinators will be surveyed in May to collect data on interest and need. • Cost – Five (5) offerings of each will be free to participants. – For requests beyond those 5 or tailored for specific services areas, participants may be asked to help cover costs.   • 12. • Intended Audience – These trainings are appropriate for staff who have learned the basics (on-line content) and have a bit of actual experience. – It is recommended that all staff attend most of these trainings every few years to maintain their “core” knowledge and skills. • “Core” Trainings – Early On: More than Rules (EO Institute with new format & focus) – Procedural Safeguards – Transition – Family & Child Outcomes – Thinking Functionally: Meeting the Unique Needs of Children and their Families • Availability – Each of these trainings either has or is in the process of being updated. These are generally for staff that are either specialized or have been in the field at least a couple of years. • Access – These trainings will be scheduled as need is expressed. – A survey of training needs will be collected during May 2011. • Cost – Each of these trainings has a fee.
