I wouldsaythat thistype of musicwouldappeal toyoungadultsor eventeenagersthatare particularlyfondof horrors.To use a
stereotype Iwouldsayit’smostlikelysomethingemo’swouldlistentoo.Towatch a musicvideolike thisone ortolistentomusic
like thissongIthinkyou wouldhave tobe reallyintothe genre andunderstandit.Also,Iwouldsayitis nothingthata highworking
classpersonwouldlisten to;itappearsjustas noise anda racket,almostunpleasant. Ontermsof genderorrace, I don’tthink
there isany direct,specificlinkasit’smore aimedatpeople whowouldwanttolistentothe musicbecause it’snotsomethingyou
justlistentoon the radio.Asfar as age groupsare concernedIwouldn’tsaythat anyone reallyunder the age of 16 wouldwatchor
listentothismusicvideobecause itisscaryand repulsive,especiallythe use of characters.

From watchingthe videoandlisteningtothe lyrics,itiseasyto establishthatthe monster(whoissinging) wantsthe oldladiessoul
and he has all these little,creepymanchildrentohelphimsucceedsohe isthe ‘daddy’of themall. The lyricstothe musicvideo
are verycreepyandunsettlingtosaythe least.Throughoutthe whole 5minutesand50secondsof the video,all we hear
repetitivelyis‘Iwantyoursoul’‘I will eatyoursoul’and‘come to daddy’ ina veryaggressive manorsonot onlyisitdisturbingfor
some people,itisalsoveryirritating.However,Ithinkthat’showitismeant to be,the lyricsare meantto sinkinandhaunt you
and playon yourmindto fitinwiththe overall theme/genre of the video.
Tempo The overall tempoof the songwas veryfast,upbeatandaggressive.Myownpersonal opinionof the songwasthatit wasjust a
groupof people makingaracketand beingverydestructiveandviolent.The characters(mainlythe little manchildren)were very
active,forexample,theywererunningaroundveryfastandmakingalot of noise tryingtointimidate the woman…Thislinks in
withthe lyricsas theyare alsoveryintimidatingandloudandboththe lyricsand videocanbe portrayedas violent.

Genre I wouldcategorise thismusicvideoasa drum& basstype genre mixedwiththe verynoticeable aspectsof monsterhorror. Heavy
metal wasone of the firstthingsthat sprungto mindwhenIheardit as I hate thisgenre of music,however,Ithink itcouldalsobe
classedaselectronic/technomusicbecause of howupbeatandalive itis.
CameraTechnique Due to thisparticularmusicvideobeingsofastmovingandactive,it’sa bitall overthe place sothere are a verylarge vary in
camera anglesandshots.Extreme close upshotsare usedto showthe monstersterrifyingface –the fact itis so close makesit
more effectivebecause it’salmostunpleasanttolookatso it’senoughtorepulse the viewers.Aswell asthis,trackingshotsand
panningshotsare usedoftento showthe movementandinterrogation of all the little menchildren,there isuse of atwoshot
whenthe monsterisscreaminginthe oldlady’sface,there isuse of a wide shotat the beginningof the videotoshowthe
audience the type of setting,there are lotsof close upshotsto showthe audience the oldlady’sfacial expressionasshe is

Editing As brieflymentionedabove,there isaverydominantcuttingtechnique usedthroughoutthe wholecourse of the musicvideo
whichhelpstokeepitalive andactive. Withitbeingpartiallyamonsterhorror,thiseditingtechniquemakesitmore jumpyand
excitingforthe audience. The pace of the editingfitsinwiththe pace of the tempo,thereforemakingthe musicvideoveryfast

Use of Digital Effects The main thingthatstood outto me withdigital effectswasthe distortionof the monstersface;itwasobvioussome kindof
morpheffectwasusedonsomeone’sface tomake itlookreallycreepyandunsettling.AnotherthingInoticedwasthe faded
colours…throughoutthere wasa constantlowsaturationwiththe colours,there are lotsof greysandbluesusedwithinthe video
whichmakesitlookdull andgloomyfittinginwiththe theme. These coloursalsohave agoodlinkto the settingasit isportrayed
as a cold,miserable daywhichlinksinwiththe bluesandgreyscolourscheme asthe colourblue linkstocoldnessandice andthe
colourgreylinksto anythingmiserable asit’sverydimanddismal.Anotherdigital effectuse isthe repeateduse of the same man’s
face on all the little children,itaddseffecttothe videoasyoufrequently see the same face butitalmosttakesoverthe video
because it’sseensooften.
