it’s challenging enough trying to connect
with people in real life,

friends and cohorts.

I didn’t
know where to go to find other like
minded souls and had tried several local
groups.

was before blogs were even popular
and most people didn’t even know what
one was.
6. But I saw it as a place to write about my
creative journey and never imagined

8. Since I was writing about
the broad application of creativity, I
started with artists, people making crafts
and innovators. I knew that was my
tribe.

My ideal tribe mate
was a creative between 25-50 years old
who wrote, painted or expressed
themselves some other visual way.
13. After I had a clear picture of who I
wanted to meet,
14. I started following some
existing creative friends that I knew in real
life or admired online.

I shared my
creativity blog posts, commented on
theirs and most importantly, shared their
posts with my followers.
19. And I continued to do this just a little
each day,
who read my posts
and shared their lives with me.

21. Eventually we met in person.

22. What started out as a desire to meet
other creative people,
and developing
friendships that span continents and time
