4. Introduzione
tutto si muove attorno all'acqua.
sempre immediatamente e ovunque disponibile.
5. Introduction
Water is the most common substance on our planet and it is also the
main element of all the living world. It's the most widely used among
the natural resources, the link between ecosystems, the main factor of
transformation among all the cycles of material and everything moves
around the water. Where there is water, there is life. Nothing is more
precious than this natural resource, which unfortunately is a limited
commodity. That's why we must use it correctly, especially avoiding
waste and trying to keep it clean in all situations: when we brush our
teeth, take a shower or water our plants. We must remember that
when we leave the taps open, we are not only wasting water but we
are depriving some less fortunate children of a basic element. With the
forty liters of our shower, somewhere else in the world other people
can live out weeks. Our country is rich in water but this doesn’t mean
that we are allowed to waste it. On the contrary, this advantage should
make us more responsible in the management of this extraordinary
treasure that nature has given us. We also have the duty to use it
sparingly because it is not an infinite resource and it is not always
immediately available everywhere. This book, from the related tables
that we made in class, wants to teach the proper use of water through
the habits that we should put in place in the family and at school from
an early age in order to show our appreciation of natural things and
our capability to recognize their value.

Bottiglia a zentangle – tecnica mista (pennarelli)

Zentangle bottle - mixed technique (markers and felt-
tips)
In summer, do not leave the tap open until the water gets cold.
Fill up a bottle and keep it in the refrigerator.

Serie di sanitari – tecnica mista (matite colorate e pennarello)

Series of W.C. - mixed technique (pastel and felt-tip pen)
Be careful! Every time you flush the WC, you use 10 liters of water. It is
very useful to provide the toilets of a "flow restrictor", which saves 3 to
5 liters of water each time. In one day, you can save about 24 liters of
water per person.

Serie di lavatrici – tecnica mista (matite colorate e pennarelli)
Puoi risparmiare acqua usando in modo oculato la lavatrice. Seleziona

Series of washing machines - mixed technique
(pastel and markers)
You can save water by using carefully your washing machine. Always
select the low energy consumption option and run full loads to reduce
the amount of water. Pay attention to high temperatures, too. A wash
at 30 degrees consumes half the water of one at 90 degrees.

Simbolo di divieto di uso dell'acqua a graffito
Tecnica mista (pastelli a cera e china nera)
all'anno.

Ban to use water in graffiti style
Mixed technique (crayons and black ink)
Collecting rainwater with simple bowls is useful for watering the plants when
water is scarce in summer, just as peasants did in the past, when water was
collected and kept in special tanks. Do not use drinkable water to wash your car,
go to a car wash that recycles water, instead. Remember that if you wash your
car for thirty minutes under running water, you waste around 150 liters. Better to
sweep driveways and sidewalks instead of cleaning them with watering cans. So
you can save up to 10,000 liters of water a year.

Goccia a texture – tecnica mista (matite colorate e trattopen)
all'anno.
Artwork
Drop in texture - mixed technique (pastel and trattopen)
Do not underestimate the drops. 90 drops per minute make 4,000 liters
of water a year. Proper maintenance can save water and money.
Remember that a tap with a small hole can also lead to the loss of more
than 2,000 liters of water in one day.

Doccia in mosaico – tecnica mista (tempera e collage)
Artwork
Mosaic shower - mixed technique (gouache and collage)
Take a shower as often as you can instead of having a bath: a 5
minutes shower requires about 60 liters of water while for a full bath
tub you need more than double!

Bicchiere a tratteggio – tecnica (matite colorate)
litri di acqua all'anno.
Artwork
Cross-hatched glass - technique (pastel)
When you brush your teeth keep the tap open only as long as necessary.
It's even better if you fill the glass with the water you need. Likewise,
close the tap when you soap yourself, wash your hair, wash dishes or use
the razor to shave. In a three people family, this habits let you save up
to 800 liters of water per year.

Secchio a tratteggio – tecnica (matite colorate)
sciacquone.

Cross-hatched bucket - technique (pastel)
Wash fruits and vegetables in a special container and use running water
to rinse only. The water you have collected can be reused, even for
watering house plants. When you run the water waiting for it to
become hot, collect it: it can be reused for washing floors or for the
W.C. instead of flushing.
