    Electronic media includes all forms of social
    media, such as but not limited to, text messaging,
    instant messaging, electronic mail (e- mail), web
    logs (blogs), electronic forums (chat rooms),
    video- sharing Web sites, editorial comments
    posted on the Internet, and social network sites.

    Electronic media also includes but is not limited to
    all forms of telecommunication, such as landlines,
    cell phones, and Web-based applications.

    technologically proficient as their counterparts....

    The study found that, of the students observed, 94
    percent used the Internet, 82 percent go online at home
    and 77 percent had a profile on a social networking site.

    When asked what they learn from using social
    networking sites, the students listed technology skills as
    the top lesson, followed by creativity, being open to new
    or diverse views and communication skills.

    certified or licensed employee, or any other
    employee designated in writing by the
    Superintendent or a campus principal may use
    electronic media to communicate with currently
    enrolled students about matters within the scope
    of the employee’s professional responsibilities.

    All other employees are prohibited from using

    who are currently enrolled in the District.
