“If you are on the Marienplatz at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. or 5 p.m. watch the

music continues after the figures stop. Although some of the music is a
bit clinky, and off key, it is still pretty cool.”

http://www.bayerische.staatsoper.de/866--~Staatsoper~bso_aktuell~aktuelles.html
“We went on the guided tour of the opera house - 7 euros per person. For anyone interested in
opera/ teatre or great architecture, this was fascinating. The House is magnificent and apart
from the auditorium, the tour took you to places you would not otherwise have access to. This
included the royal box and private lnterval lounge, backstage, under the stage, dressing rooms,
orchestra pit, scenery storage areas etc. Most people will not realise that the large magnificent
auditorium is actually not as a big aas the stage/ backstage areas! Much of the tour is visual in
impact, which is important for non German speakers as the tour guide was excellent in relating
background information but in German only (not a problem for me as I speak German).
Photography is allowed except in the backstage areas. Had to pinch myself when I realised
that I was actually on stage at the Bayrischer Staatsoper!”
