In 9 th grade – Unit on Maxine Hong Kingston’s Women Warrior dealing with cultural/gender bias. Unit on To Kill a Mockingbird supplemented with African American poetry. In 10 th grade we read a variety of diverse authors of fiction and nonfiction. In 11 th grade we read Elie Wiesel’s Night . We don’t offer a World Lit course, but Contemporary Lit features a variety of authors. AP Lit in grade 11 reads Nickel and Dimed , a socio economic diversity book. Grade 12 reads Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man . Summer reading lists for each grade include diverse choices for each grade such as…
