VSA and Its “Spider’s Web”

Global Corporate Client base
which it helps to fund through
its unique and extensive
global distribution network
• By solving this funding
question, funding can be
achieved where others fail
• Not just Equity but also Debt
and Unconventional funding
5. MMM will focus on a small group of mainly off-exchange traded metals and their
respective minerals, which the directors believe:
• Have attractive supply/demand dynamics for the coming years; or
• Present opportunities due to markets valuations
• Particular emphasis is being placed on:
• Antimony (Sb)
• Chrome (Cr)
• Niobium (Nb)
• Manganese (Mn)
• Mineral Sands (Ti, Zr)
• Molybdenum (Mo)
• Tantalum (Ta)
• Tungsten (W)
7. The KUSASA Project
Staff and volunteers operate on the following principles:
• The kids come first
• We are trustworthy and honest: we do what we say and we say what we do!
• We are colour-blind: black, white, coloured, Xhosa, English, Afrikaans
are all equal and equally important to us
• We are transparent = there are NO hidden agendas
• Communication is crucial for our success
• We seek to PARTNER with schools, teachers, communities and organisations,
to benefit kids - NOT provide hand-outs
• Because we don’t have all the answers, we must work with schools, teachers and communities to find the
answers together
• Our goal is to enable schools, teachers and communities to succeed; to assist, not takeover or replace
• We respect the struggles of the past but refuse to allow the past to be an excuse for failure
• The trustees, staff and volunteers of the KUSASA Project believe that to succeed in helping children, we all
need to join hands
If we work together, we can succeed, but if we don't each do our part, we will all fail
The FUTURE is what matters
8. Our Goals
• To positively impact the children of the Franschhoek Valley by offering
educational opportunity, sporting activities and a good example of
personal interaction to kids who live in an environment which
disappoints them, harms them and offers little opportunity to break out
of the cycle of poverty
• To break down barriers, offer volunteers the opportunity to give of their
time and talent, and open minds to the awesome potential of the
children in their midst
• To remove race or socioeconomic status as a measure of the person –
let us judge a person by “the content of their character” (ML King)
To create a model of direct interaction on
behalf of children which can be replicated anywhere
9. Weekly Programmes
• Breakfast Club: Feeding 700 children each school day in two schools
• Morning Reading: Four days per week in three schools with volunteers
• Literacy For All: Structured literacy programme in four schools
• After-School Clubs:
• Ranging from Art, Drama and Ballet to Running, Chess and Reading
• Subjects depend on volunteer availability
• Young Scholars’ afternoon reading
• Homework sessions
• Crèche assistance
11. What We Do in Quotes
