A long time ago, a fairy lived in a beautiful magical place that was threatened by evil beings. The fairy's magic was too weak to defeat them alone. She and her people set out to find a crystal rock, the only thing powerful enough to help. Many gave up along the dangerous journey, but Shadow stayed loyal to the fairy and helped her find the crystal rock. In exchange for the crystal, Shadow stayed with the monster guardian forever. The crystal's magic saved the land, but the fairy missed her faithful Shadow, who she had grown to love. To honor his loyalty and sacrifice, she gave each being in the world their own shadow.
