Get students to put up their vision boards around the class. Walk around and select 2 to 3 students to share. Get all the students to gather around these students’ vision boards and let the students present their boards to the class. Give the students 10 minutes to walk around the class to look at the other vision boards. Round up this activity by reminding students to look at their vision boards regularly to remind themselves of their Personal Visions.

The DASH principles Get students to recall ‘The Dash’ from the previous lesson. Tell the students that beyond all material gains, leading a purposeful life to the fullest makes one a success. Remind them that the activities they did (taking stock of their lives and making Vision Boards) are all steps to help them achieve their purpose. Play the YouTube video on Nick Vujicic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8ZuKF3dxCY (Refer to Annex 1 for background information on Nick Vujicic)
Use the powerpoint slides to summarise what the students have contributed and link their reflections to the DASH principles. D etermination A ttitude S uccess H appiness
Encourage students to reach for their dreams and make their dash count. Remind them that their purpose should centre around their personal visions and guided by their values (recall the star diagram from the previous lesson). Play the YouTube video for ‘Everybody’s free to wear sunscreen’ ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTJ7AzBIJoI )
Get students to reflect for a few minutes after video and ask them the following questions: What do you admire most about Nick? What qualities does he exemplify? What about him inspires you? How was he able to get the most out of his life? What have you learnt from this video? (The purpose of these questions is to get students to realise the 4 DASH principles through the video)
