The Spanish class document provides instructions for two activities. The first activity has students practice days of the week in Spanish by matching cards with the written and spoken names. • ¿Cuál es la fecha de hoy? – What is today’s date?
• Hoy es . – Today is .
• Mañana es . – Tomorrow is .
• Ayer fue . – Yesterday was .
• ¿Qué día es hoy? – What day is today?
• Mi/Tu cumpleaños – My/Your cumpleaños
• el 6 de febrero – February 6
• el primero de mayo – May 1 or May 1st
14. Vocabulario: la fecha
• In Spanish, we form dates using:
“day of the week, + el + number + de + month + de/del +
year”
“martes, el cinco de mayo del 2000”
• Use de for years between 1000-1999
• Use del for years 1-999 and 2000-greater
15. Vocabulario: la fecha
• We use primero for “first” but we use the regular numbers for
the rest of the dates.
• All days are masculine.
– “el lunes” – “on Monday”
– “los lunes – “on Mondays”
• The days of the week and the months of the year are not
capitalized.
