8. DO NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION Children are generally unaware that they are giving out way more information about themselves then they realize. They may have their hometown listed on a social networking site along with an e-mail address. If they post any pictures they are making themselves easily known by someone other than their friend. They may be seen by their friends, their friends friend's and so on. Parents need to teach them about their security setting on the sites they use to help protect them.
