‘Blowing Bubbles’

Nearly touch the sky.
Then like my dreams they fade and die.

Rising all the time.

Student 1: were it attached atop your head,
This poem is called ‘Betty eats spaghetti’ it soon would drive you to despair,
When Betty eats spaghetti, forever tickled by your hair.
She slurps, she slurps, slurps, Within your ear, your nose would be an
And when she’s finished slurping, absolute catastrophe,
She burps, she burps, she burps for when you were obliged to sneeze,
your brain would rattle from the breeze.
Student 2:
This poem is called ‘Pretty shell’ Your nose, instead, through thick and thin,
Tell me your secrets, pretty shell, remains between your eyes and chin,
I will promise not to tell! not pasted on some other place--
Humming, humming, soft and low- be glad your nose is on your face!
All about the sea I know.
You are. Murmuring I think, Student 5:
Of the sea-weeds, green and pink, This poem is called ‘New kid’
Of the tiny baby shells There's a new kid on the block,
Where the mother mermaid dwells and boy, that kid is tough,
Pretty shell, I, m waiting here, that new kid punches hard,
Come, and whisper in my ear. that new kid plays real rough,
that new kid's big and strong,
Student 3: with muscles everywhere,
This poem is called ‘If’ that new kid tweaked my arm,
If all the seas were one sea, that new kid pulled my hair.
What a great sea that would be!
If all the trees were one tree, That new kid likes to fight,
What a great tree that would be! and picks on all the guys,
If all the axes were one axe, that new kid scares me some,
What a great axe that would be! (that new kid's twice my size),
If all the men were one man, that new kid stomped my toes,
What a great man he would be! that new kid swiped my ball,
And if the great man took the great axe, that new kid's really bad,
And cut down the great tree, I don't care for her at all.
And let it fall into the great sea,
What a great splash-splash that would be! All students together:

Student 4: There are big waves and little waves,
This poem is called ‘Your nose’ Green waves and blue,
Be glad your nose is on your face, Waves you can jump over,
not pasted on some other place, Waves you dive through
for if it were where it is not, Waves that rise up
you might dislike your nose a lot. Like a great water wall
Waves that swell softly
Imagine if your precious nose And don't break at all,
were sandwiched in between your toes, Waves that can whisper,
that clearly would not be a treat, Waves that can roar
for you'd be forced to smell your feet. And tiny waves that run at you
Playing on the shore.
Your nose would be a source of dread
