Incy Wincy spider climbed up the water spout
Down came the rain and washed poor Incy out
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain

                           I don’t want a parrot that talks
I don’t want a bowl of little fishes
                             I can’t take a fish for a walk

I want to give him a good home

Five little men in a flying saucer,
                                         Hot Potato, Hot Potato...
Flew round the world one day,
                                         Hot Potato, Hot Potato,...
They looked left and right,

But they didn't like the sight,

‘Singing in the Rain’
Props: Umbrellas

                                        I'm singing in the rain
                                        Just singing in the rain
                                          An amazing feeling
                                           I'm happy again

                                         I'm laughing at clouds
                                            So dark up above
                                         The sun's in my heart
                                         And I'm ready for fun

                                   Let the stormy clouds chase
                                    Everyone from the place
                                     Come on with the rain
I've a smile on my face

                                          I walk down the lane
                                              I feel no pain,
                                               Just singing

Poems

Student 1: My poem is called 'Why Oh Why' Then we start wrestling again
Why do I have to clean my room
when I would rather play? Student 3: This poem is about a boy who lives
The crayons scattered on the floor in Causeway Bay.
       are hardly in the way.               I live in the city in a street;
I almost never trip upon                    It is crowded with traffic and feet;
       my basketball or drums,              There are buses and motors and trams;
And I don't pay attention I wish there were meadows and lambs.
       to cake and cookie crumbs!
The buildings all stand in a row,
Why do I have to clean my room? There is smoke everywhere that I go.
I think my room looks nice. I don't like the noises I hear,
There's pizza in the corner, I wish there were woods very near.
but it's only half a slice.
I'm not at all worried about There is only one thing that I love,
the gravy on the chair, And that is the sky far above,
My piles of model planes and trains, There is plenty of room in the blue
my stacks of underwear! For castles of clouds and me, too!

I will admit some bits of clay Student 4: This poem is about a girl who lives
are sticking to the wall. in a small village on Lantau Island.
I hardly even notice them My home is a house near a wood
and do not mind at all. I'd live a street if I could!
Under my bed there's just a wedge The lanes are so quiet, oh, dear!
of last weeks apple pie, I do wish that someone lived near.
And yet I have to clean my room...
I simply don't know why! There is no one to play with at all,
                                            The trees are so high and so tall;
Student 2: My poem is called ‘Wrestling’ And I should be lonely for hours,
I like wrestling with Herbie because Were it not for the birds and the flowers.
He's my best friend
We poke each other I wish that I lived in the city,
(but not very hard) To see all the trams going down,
And punch each other A twinkling street that is bright,
(but not very hard) With wonderful colours, at night!
And roll on the grass
And pretend to have fights Student 5: This poem is called ‘The Wind’
Just to make our sisters scream Who has seen the wind?
                                            Neither I nor you:
But sometimes if he hits too much But when the leaves hang trembling
And it hurts The wind is passing thro'
I get mad Who has seen the wind?
And I punch him back Neither you nor I:
As hard as I can But when the trees bow down their heads
And then we are both crying The wind is passing by.
And going into our houses
And slamming our back doors on each other Everyone together: Our last poem is called
                                            ‘Rainbow’
But the next day, if it's sunny Rainbow, rainbow in the sky,
We come out into our yards I look at your and wonder why,
And grin at each other Your colours never run or smear,
And sometimes he gives me an apple And how you so suddenly appear,
Or I give him a cookie and Beautiful, colourful and bright,
Then slowly fade away from sight.

‘Blowing Bubbles’
Students should memorise the song and make actions/a dance for the lines.

I’m forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.
They fly so high,
Nearly touch the sky.
Then like my dreams they fade and die.
I can see them flating,
They flat everywhere.
I’m forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.

I’m forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.
See how they shine
Rising all the time.
Then when they stop, they fall and pop.
I can see them floating,
They float everywhere.
I’m forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.

And when she’s finished slurping, absolute catastrophe,
She burps, she burps, she burps for when you were obliged to sneeze,
your brain would rattle from the breeze.
Student 2:
This poem is called ‘Pretty shell’ Your nose, instead, through thick and thin,
Tell me your secrets, pretty shell, remains between your eyes and chin,
I will promise not to tell! not pasted on some other place--
Humming, humming, soft and low- be glad your nose is on your face!
All about the sea I know.
You are. Murmuring I think, Student 5:
Of the sea-weeds, green and pink, This poem is called ‘New kid’
Of the tiny baby shells There's a new kid on the block,
Where the mother mermaid dwells and boy, that kid is tough,
Pretty shell, I, m waiting here, that new kid punches hard,
Come, and whisper in my ear. that new kid plays real rough,
that new kid's big and strong,
Student 3: with muscles everywhere,
This poem is called ‘If’ that new kid tweaked my arm,
If all the seas were one sea, that new kid pulled my hair.
What a great sea that would be!
If all the trees were one tree, That new kid likes to fight,
What a great tree that would be! and picks on all the guys,
If all the axes were one axe, that new kid scares me some,
What a great axe that would be! (that new kid's twice my size),
If all the men were one man, that new kid stomped my toes,
What a great man he would be! that new kid swiped my ball,
And if the great man took the great axe, that new kid's really bad,
And cut down the great tree, I don't care for her at all.
And let it fall into the great sea,
What a great splash-splash that would be! All students together:
Our poem is called ‘Big and little waves”
Student 4: There are big waves and little waves,
This poem is called ‘Your nose’ Green waves and blue,
Be glad your nose is on your face, Waves you can jump over,
not pasted on some other place, Waves you dive through
for if it were where it is not, Waves that rise up
you might dislike your nose a lot. Like a great water wall
                                             Waves that swell softly
Imagine if your precious nose And don't break at all,
were sandwiched in between your toes, Waves that can whisper,
that clearly would not be a treat, Waves that can roar
for you'd be forced to smell your feet. And tiny waves that run at you
                                             Playing on the shore.
Your nose would be a source of dread
‘A Little Help from my Friends’
Students should memorise the song and make actions/a dance for the lines.

1 Student: Hello, this is a very famous song we know by The Beatles. It is called ‘A Little Help
from my Friends’

What would do if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song,
And I'll try not to sing out of key.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends.

What do I do when your friends are away.
[1 student only] Does it worry you to be alone?
How do I feel by the end of the day?
[1 student only] Are you sad because you're on your own?
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends.

Do you neeeeed anybody?
I need somebody to love.
Could it beeee anybody?
I want somebody to love.

What would think if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me.
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song,
And I'll try not to sing out of key.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends.

Do you neeeeed anybody?
I need somebody to love.
Could it beeee anybody?
I want somebody to love.

Oh I get by with a little help from my friends.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
with a little help from my frieeeends!

‘Yellow Submarine’
Students should memorise the song and make actions/a dance for the lines.

1 Student: Hello, this is a very famous song we know by The Beatles. It is called ‘A Yellow
Submarine’

In the town where I was born,
Lived a man who sailed to sea,
And he told us of his life,
In the land of submarines,

So we sailed on to the sun,
Till we found the sea of green,
And we lived under the waves,
In our yellow submarine,

We all live in a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine, yellow submarine,
We all live in a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine, yellow submarine.

All our friends are all aboard,
Many more of them live next door,
And the band begins to play.

(Trumpets play)

We all live in a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine, yellow submarine,
We all live a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine, yellow submarine.

We all live in a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine, yellow submarine,
We all live in a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine, yellow submarine.

And going into our houses And slamming our back doors on each other Everyone together: Our last poem is called ‘Rainbow’ But the next day, if it's sunny Rainbow, rainbow in the sky, We come out into our yards I look at your and wonder why, And grin at each other Your colours never run or smear, And sometimes he gives me an apple And how you so suddenly appear, Or I give him a cookie and Beautiful, colourful and bright, Then slowly fade away from sight.

What a great sea that would be! If all the trees were one tree, That new kid likes to fight, What a great tree that would be! and picks on all the guys, If all the axes were one axe, that new kid scares me some, What a great axe that would be! (that new kid's twice my size), If all the men were one man, that new kid stomped my toes, What a great man he would be! that new kid swiped my ball, And if the great man took the great axe, that new kid's really bad, And cut down the great tree, I don't care for her at all. All students together: Our poem is called ‘Big and little waves” Student 4: There are big waves and little waves, This poem is called ‘Your nose’ Green waves and blue, Be glad your nose is on your face, Waves you can jump over, not pasted on some other place, Waves you dive through for if it were where it is not, Waves that rise up you might dislike your nose a lot. Like a great water wall Waves that swell softly Imagine if your precious nose And don't break at all, were sandwiched in between your toes, Waves that can whisper, that clearly would not be a treat, Waves that can roar for you'd be forced to smell your feet. And tiny waves that run at you Playing on the shore. Your nose would be a source of dread
