Castanyada Castanyada
History From  paleolithic  the man  one  fed on chestnuts and acorns. With the  expansion  of the culture of chestnut tree by the Romans, its fruit became the base of the feeding of the population, as much as fruit fresh, dry or ground to make flour. In century XVI the arrival of the maize and the potato of America caused that  the  chestnuts lost their protagonism in the feeding farmer. Traditionally this celebration was realised with the collection of this fruit and also served as gratefulness by the received harvest.
Visits to the  cemetery The  day of All the Saints and, mainly, the day of Deceaseds, the 2 of November, people are going to the  cemeteries  to visit the tombs of the ancestors, to adorn themselves with flowers and to fix her outer aspect.
Panellets The origin of panellets as eaten characteristic of the festival of All the Saints is little clearly. They can be a memory of old funeral meals: in some places people took panellets to the church in baskets and she ate them within the same temple in community. In the populations of old Catalonia, there was the custom to celebrate a food after the death of some relative. This food had a ritual character in the form to put the table, the distribution of the companions at table and the meals that occurred.
Castanyes Castanyes is a typical plate but, of the castanyada one, he is typical to eat cooked them or with sugar, also he is typical to do them with all the together family in house.
Boniatos The boinatos are a typical plate but of the castanyada one, also I could be eaten for winter. And they are potatoes that eat or crude or spanish stews, and takes off the skin to them and taste to potato.
Moscatel Moscatel is a drink that is wine, and here is typical to drink it the day of the castanyada one, drinks  with castanyas, panellets and sweet potatoes.
The Chestnut  The Chestnut seller usually imagines with the figure of a chestnut seller: an old woman, dressed in poor clothes of shelter and handkerchief in the head, before a toaster of chestnuts for the sale in the street.
