Buzz Aldrin was an American astronaut and the second person to walk on the moon. He graduated from West Point and got a doctorate in science from MIT. On the Apollo 11 mission in 1969, he and Neil Armstrong became the first two people to walk on the moon. Neil Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon as commander of the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. He had a career as a naval aviator before joining NASA. Eugene Cernan was an astronaut who walked in space during the Gemini 12 mission and was the last person to walk on the moon as commander of Apollo 17 in 1972.
