               Identify the effects of globalization
                                                                  million links using the
                                                                  word “Globalization”.
II. Methodology: Integrated Methods and Activity-Based

III: Content:
 Globalization
 the process of increasing interdependence among countries and their citizens.
 In generally, it refers to various global interconnections.
 A process of interaction and integration among the people, companies and governments
     of different nations.
 An aspect of the world which has gone through the process can be said to be
     “globalized”.

 Types of Globalization
   1. Economic Globalization
 which is the most closely associated term in globalization because it comprises the
globalization of production, markets, capital, competition, industries, corporation,
          goods and resources.
 Multinational corporation, integration of national economies into the international
economies through trade, foreign direct investment, import/export are the some
          examples of economic globalization.

   2. Cultural Globalization
 it is the merging of world’s culture and rapid traversing of ideas, languages or popular
cultures (called acculturation) across national boarders. This sharing of ideas
generally leads to an interconnectedness and interaction between peoples diverse
          cultures and ways of life.
 Foods, Entertainment and Languages are examples of cultural globalization.

   3. Technological Globalization
 Is the connection between nations aided by information technology such as internet,
          television, radio, etc.
 It was tradionally available only to the rich but is now far more available to the poor.

   4. Financial Globalization
 Is the interconnection of the world’s financial systems of a particular country with the
international organizations as well as financial markets.
 The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and world Bank are the two international
institutions of finance which were set up to endorse world trade to keep up with the
            growth of financial globalization.
   5. Political Globalization
 where countries are attemting to adopt similar political policies and styles of
government in order to facilitate other forms of globalization.
 examples are free trade agreement and move to secular governments.

   6. Ecological Globalization
 Refers to the collective impact that the diverse processes of globalization have on the
health of the planet’s natural systems.

   7. Sociological Globalization
 is a growing belief that we are all global citizens and should all be held to the same
standards – and have the same rights.

Effects of Globalization
   1. Development of global telecommunications
 infrastructure & transborder data flow using such technologies as the Internet,
communication satellites, submarine fiber optic cable, and wireless telephones
 Increase in the number of standards applied globally.

   2. Emergence of worldwide production markets
 broader access to a range of foreign products for consumer & companies. Particularly
movement of material and goods between and within national boundaries.

   3. Emergence of financial markets
 better access to external financing for corporate, national and sub national borrowers.
 As these worldwide structures grew more quickly than any transnational regulatory
regime, the instability of the global financial infrastructure dramatically increased, as
evidenced by the Financial crisis of 2007–2010.

   4. Increase in the information flows
 Arguably this is a technological change with the advent of fibre optic communications,
satellites, and increased availability of telephone and Internet.
 Language - the most popular first language is Mandarin (845 million speakers)
followed by Spanish (329 million speakers) and English (328 million speakers). However
the most popular second language is undoubtedly English, the "lingua franca" of
         globalization:
 About 35% of the world's mail, telexes, and cables are in English.
 Approximately 40% of the world's radio programs are in English.
 English is the dominant language on the Internet

   5. Increses l Ecological Problems
 such as climate change, water and air pollution and spread of invasive species. Since
many factories are built in developing countries with less environmental regulation,
globalism and free trade may increase pollution and impact on precious fresh water
        resources(Hoekstra and Chapagain 2008).
