5. The item is made of metal throughout with an obvious handle end, a sharp slicing edge, and a possible scooping function. The shape of the handle lends itself to comfort given the flared end fits nicely into ones palm and the tapered end of the handle ensures a firm grip while using as a peeler.

7. We searched and found that our neighbor chose not to own or use a conventional style potato peeler and opted for a multifunctional device. While we understand his logic of multi purpose we could not get past the scars left in our thumbs and cannot recommend this style of tool.

9. In this next series of photos we wanted to test a few theories before we lay claim that this, in fact, is a potato peeler.

11. Given the amount of snow that needed to be removed and the significant difference in size relationship, we found the object to be unrealistic as a snow removal device.
12. We also tried using the device as a feline grooming utensil.
13. While the feline was stimulated by the object, it proved un-useful as a grooming tool
14. We did however, find the device quite useful for peeling other item beyond potatoes.

16. It seemed perfect to use for peeling carrots, beets, apple, and even pears.
17. It also proved useful for making shaving of fruits and vegetable
18. Maybe we mistook the device and it could be considered a fruit and vegetable peeler. Probably to many words for our subject culture to use, nonetheless, the object does perform these functions.
19. We found that humans from the subject culture prefer not to eat the outer portion of most fruits and vegetable. They also preferred using the most simple action to remove the outer portion. The potato(e) peeler fulfilled this role well.
20. Ultimately,we believe the tool is used for food preparation while addressing ones taste palate. The peeler is found in many different countries and it’s origin dates the late 1600’s.
