Criminal Justice Technology Diploma Program
The Criminal Justice Technology diploma program is a sequence of
courses that prepares students for Criminal Justice professions.
Learning opportunities develop academic, occupational, and
professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition,
retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination
of Criminal Justice theory and practical application necessary for
successful employment. Program graduates receive a Criminal Justice
Technology diploma. Graduates who are current practitioners will
benefit through enhancement of career potential. Entry-level persons
will be prepared to pursue diverse opportunities in the corrections,
security, investigative, and police administration fields.

Introduction to Criminal Justice
Certificate
This course of study focuses on the
criminal justice system, its
organizational components and
processes, and its legal and public
policy contexts. It includes
instruction in criminal law and
policy and police organization.
6. Employment
Graduates from the Criminal Justice Program at MTC can
expect to obtain entry level positions as a police officer,
deputy sheriff, hospital security, private security, and
detention officer.
In addition, graduates can also obtain certain positions with
the field of probation, parole, social work, clerk of court
office, and the offices of attorneys.

Can I become an investigator with a diploma from MTC?
Normally, an individual would have to serve a period of time as a
patrol officer at an agency before they could be moved into
investigation. The true answer to this question would be
dependent on the hiring agency.
Is forensics covered in the Criminal Justice courses at MTC?
The Criminal Justice courses at MTC focus on the history of the
Criminal Justice System with an emphasis on the theoretical and
procedural foundations that law professionals have to work in and
with. There are no current courses in the program that covers
forensics in any real detail.
