2. Why is this topic important to me? I have been a life long consumer of video games. The media wrongfully blames video games for the short comings of our youth. There are biased reports that portray video games in the wrong light. I wish to prove these reports wrong.
3. My Thesis Studies have been done that show that videogames do not cause teenagers to behave violently. There are actually many benefits to playing video games. Video games do not cause teenagers to behave violently, my presentation today will show that.
8. Studies show that violent video games do not cause teenagers to behave violently. Juvenile and overall federal crime rate has lowered since violent video games were introduced. Many studies have been done and no correlation has been found between youth aggression and video games.
9. Numerous authorities such as the U.S. Surgeon General, the Federal Trade Commission and other trustable groups have examined the issue and see no correlation. Felons who commit crimes consume fewer video games then the average person.
10. According to a 2001 U.S. Surgeon General's report, the strongest risk factors for school shootings are centered on mental stability and the quality of home life, not media exposure. Only those with serious mental condition may be able to take video games and emulate them.
12. Playing video games involves problem solving, planning, estimation and analysis of the moves or actions of both you and your opponent . Gaming helps us form problem-solving skills, analytical and estimation skills and quick decision-making.
