This page is a journal that I kept during the summer of 2011 when I first
joined Twitter and started learning how to be a connected educator.

My Goals:
● Implement all 5 components of the Daily 5
● Integrate student blogging into "Work on Writing"
● Skype with other classrooms around the world
There! 3 goals. I never set goals before. My only goal was to
make it to the last day of school!
I think 2011-12 is going to be the best one yet!

Students asked Dr. Thomas
questions about 0 gravity and how
he became an astronaut.

19. Google Docs
In February 2013, Five #2ndchat classrooms created a progressive story called “What
Stuffed Animals Do at Night” inspired by Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner. Each
class took turns adding to a story where they imagined what their stuffed animals did
at night while they were sleeping. We also created a Voicethread using pictures and
narration.
