This document shows the average distance traveled by an object on different surfaces. It found that on a desk surface the average distance was 145 centimeters, on carpet the average was 101 centimeters, and on cement the average was 102 centimeters, with desks allowing the greatest travel distance and cement and carpet having similar averages.
