2. Shelter
In my opinion, shelter is one of the most
important inventions of mankind. Shelter
protects us from Storms, rain and lots of
other things. Shelter can also keep us
warm.
Early people made their houses in a very
cool and interesting way. First of all, they
tied lots of sticks together. Next they
went to look for clay. Once they had
enough clay for the house, they threw
clay at the it.
Early people always built their shelters
near or sometimes on lakes. To build the
houses on the lakes, the early people had
to build them on stilts. The stilts had to
be high enough, so that when the lake
rises, it doesn’t flood the shelters. Lots
of fish live in lakes and early people have
to try to live as close to prey as possible.
3. Weapons
e of the most important inventions
of all time. Especially for the early
humans. Thanks to weapons, getting
food was easier than before. With
spears and nets, they caught fish in
the streams and lakes. With bows
and arrows they caught
elks, deer, rabbits and co. They had
axes to kill the animals once they
planted an arrow in it.
The knife was also a very useful
partner to the early people. They
used knives to kill animals, cut
food, cut branches to make a
shelter, etc. The knife was used a
lot, every day.
4. Canoes
Canoes were very important for
early people. With canoes, they
were able to go places without
having to walk around lakes and
streams. They made paddles out of
wood. The canoe itself was made out
of a hollowed tree trunk.
The early people got into their
canoes and paddled into the middle
of a lake. Next, they looked for
fish, and once they saw one, the
sank the spear into the water. If
they were lucky, they caught the
fish. It was one of the hardest ways
to get fish, but since the early
people had to have the skill, they
practiced every day.
