academy

3. Why do an internship?
• Course requirement for the academies
• Get Honors Credit
• Get community service hours (if student is not
paid)
• 5 weeks (end of June through end of July)
• Please plan your vacations right after June
8, 2012 the last day of school
• Most important part of the academy experience
• Often lead to a part-time or full-time job after
graduation

4. Compensation
• Salary

employer (gift certificate, transportation or lunch
money, scholarship, etc)

• District has limited bus passes

7. What if student is already working?
• We can turn your present job into an
internship
• Your supervisor will be required to teach you
additional duties NOT just your present job

8. How do I get an internship?

• Approach particular business in area where
you are a customer
• Ask friends and family; network!!!!
• We will also provide leads with assistance
from the district
