         Internet World Stats’ın Haziran 2008 verilerine göre:

          Dünya nüfusunun % 21,9’u (1 milyar 463 milyon 632 bin kişi) internet kullanıyor.
          Avrupa nüfusunun % 48,1’i internet kullanıyor.
          Ortadoğu’da bu oran %21, 3, Kuzey Amerika’da ise %73, 6.

                                                                                                       Türkiye’de internet kullanımı
                                                                                                        %1225 artış göstermiştir.

Türkiye’deİnternet
              Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu’nun (TÜİK) 2008 yılı Nisan ayı içerisinde gerçekleştirdiği “Hanehalkı Bilişim
                Teknolojileri Kullanım Araştırması”na göre;:
                  16-74 yaş grubundaki hanehalkı bireylerinin İnternet kullanım oranları % 35,8.
                  2008 yılı Ocak-Mart döneminde İnternet kullanan bireylerin % 55,2’si evinde, % 38,4’ü işyerinde, % 24,2’si İnternet
                   kafede İnternet kullanmıştır.
                  Bilgisayar ve İnternet kullanım oranının en yüksek olduğu yaş grubu 16-24’tür. Bu yaş grubunu     25-34 yaş grubu
                   izlemektedir.
                  2008 yılı Ocak-Mart döneminde İnternet kullanan hanehalkı bireylerinin % 76’sı gazete ya da dergi okuma, % 74’ü e-
                   posta gönderme alma, % 69,7’si anlık ileti gönderme, % 65,2’si müzik indirme ya da dinleme için İnterneti
                   kullanmıştır.
                  2008 yılı Ocak-Mart döneminde İnternet kullanan hanehalkı bireylerinin % 7,2’si İnternet üzerinden kişisel kullanım
                   amacıyla mal veya hizmet siparişi vermiş ya da satın almıştır.
                  İnternet üzerinden hiç mal veya hizmet siparişi vermeyen ya da satın almayan hanehalkı bireylerinin oranı ise %
                   88,4’tür.
                  Nisan 2007-Mart 2008 dönemini kapsayan son 12 ayda İnternet üzerinden mal veya hizmet siparişi veren ya da satın
                   alan hanehalkı bireylerinin % 30,4’ü İnternet üzerinden elektronik araçlar almıştır. Bunu % 25,2 ile ev eşyası, % 23,4
                   ile kitap, dergi, gazete, % 18,2 ile giyim, spor malzemeleri izlemiştir.

Türkiye’deİnternet Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu’nun (TÜİK) 2008 yılı Nisan ayı içerisinde gerçekleştirdiği “Hanehalkı Bilişim Teknolojileri Kullanım Araştırması”na göre;:  16-74 yaş grubundaki hanehalkı bireylerinin İnternet kullanım oranları % 35,8.  2008 yılı Ocak-Mart döneminde İnternet kullanan bireylerin % 55,2’si evinde, % 38,4’ü işyerinde, % 24,2’si İnternet kafede İnternet kullanmıştır.  Bilgisayar ve İnternet kullanım oranının en yüksek olduğu yaş grubu 16-24’tür. Bu yaş grubunu 25-34 yaş grubu izlemektedir.  2008 yılı Ocak-Mart döneminde İnternet kullanan hanehalkı bireylerinin % 76’sı gazete ya da dergi okuma, % 74’ü e- posta gönderme alma, % 69,7’si anlık ileti gönderme, % 65,2’si müzik indirme ya da dinleme için İnterneti kullanmıştır.  2008 yılı Ocak-Mart döneminde İnternet kullanan hanehalkı bireylerinin % 7,2’si İnternet üzerinden kişisel kullanım amacıyla mal veya hizmet siparişi vermiş ya da satın almıştır.  İnternet üzerinden hiç mal veya hizmet siparişi vermeyen ya da satın almayan hanehalkı bireylerinin oranı ise % 88,4’tür.  Nisan 2007-Mart 2008 dönemini kapsayan son 12 ayda İnternet üzerinden mal veya hizmet siparişi veren ya da satın alan hanehalkı bireylerinin % 30,4’ü İnternet üzerinden elektronik araçlar almıştır. Bunu % 25,2 ile ev eşyası, % 23,4 ile kitap, dergi, gazete, % 18,2 ile giyim, spor malzemeleri izlemiştir.
