Six new faces were among Fortune India's Most Powerful Women in Business for 2012. The new entrants included Prabha Parameswaran of Colgate-Palmolive India, Aisha De Sequeira of Morgan Stanley India, Debjani Ghosh of Intel South Asia, Abanti Sankaranarayanan of Diageo India, Anjali Bansal of Spencer Stuart, and Asha Gupta of Tupperware India. Fortune India has ranked India’s 50 Most
Powerful Women in Business for the second time,
in its latest issue. While Chanda Kochhar of ICICI
Bank maintains the first place, Mallika Srinivasan
of TAFE and Aruna Jayanthi, CEO, Capgemini India
move up to take the second and third place

2. Prabha Parameswaran, MD, Colgate-
Palmolive India:
Prabha Parameswaran is one of
the new faces in the latest
edition of Fortune India’s Most
Powerful Women in Business list.
She has been the MD of the
company since February 1, 2012.
Under her leadership, the sales
and market shares of the
subsidiary have performed
strongly. Prabha, with her broad
based experience across
categories in Global, Division and
Subsidiary roles and strong
leadership is definitely one of
the most powerful women in
business.

3. Aisha De Sequeira, MD, Morgan
Stanley India Investment Banking
Aisha de Sequeira, the Morgan Stanley
MD is also another new name on the
list. Aisha, 41, a mother of three is a
power woman in the high-stakes world
of investment banking. She has even
pioneered the Wall Street firm to top
slot in India’s $38 billion M&A market,
with Morgan Stanley dominating all the
three major deal league tables in 2011.
She has been responsible for
overlooking and advising the full scale
of investment banking services both
inbound and outbound in India from
scratch. She also has partnered with
many global consumer companies like
Unilever, PepsiCo, etc.

4. Debjani Ghosh, MD, Sales &
Marketing Group, Intel South Asia
Debjani Ghosh, MD, Sales & Marketing Group,
Intel South Asia is another new name on the list
of the Most Powerful Women in Business. She
has been Managing Director of Sales and
Marketing Operations for South Asia at Intel
Technology India since January this year. Under
Debjani’s leadership Intel has connected more
South Asians to exciting opportunities through
technology.
Ghosh served as Chief Executive Officer of Intel
Vietnam and Director of Intel Groups Southeast
Asia at Intel Corporation and also served as
Director of Sales and Marketing for Southeast
Asia at Intel Technology India until December
2011. She certainly is one of India’s most
powerful women in business.

5. Abanti Sankaranarayanan, Country
Head, Diageo India
Abanti Sankaranarayanan makes it
to the list too. Abanti has been
promoted twice within a year at
Diageo, the world's biggest spirits
company. She joined Diageo India
in 2010 as marketing director and
was elevated as deputy managing
director earlier this year and was
named managing director in July.
She lists Rowson's Reserve, a
brewedin-India whiskey launched
in September 2011 among her
achievements.

6. Anjali Bansal, Managing Partner,
Spencer Stuart
Anjali Bansal is another new entrant
on the list. She was instrumental in
establishing Spencer Stuart’s Indian
business. As an active member of the
Private Equity, Financial Services,
Industrial and Technology practices,
Anjali works in diverse geographies
across the U.S., Europe and Asia,
advising Indian and multinational
companies on CEO and senior
executive search, governance and
succession. She is also a regular

7. Asha Gupta, MD, Tupperware India
Asha Gupta, MD, Tupperware India is the
other fresh face on the Fortune list. Asha
joined Tupperware in 1997 as part of the
start-up team and headed the sales for the
southern markets in India. After a successful
two-year stint, she was promoted to head of
marketing for Tupperware in India. Soon she
climbed to the post of MD of eight Western
European countries, including Scandinavia
and Baltic nations. She later came to India to
take up charge as the managing director. She
has added new aspect to direct selling with
her enterprising ideas and skillful handling of
the Indian market.
