El Festival Primavera Sound torna un altre any més, presentant-nos un munt de propostes
musicals que abasten estils ben diversos. Aquesta nova edició, que se celebrarà del 29 al 31 de
maig a Barcelona, ofereix més d’un centenar de concerts, entre els que destaquen l’esperat
retorn de Portishead, allunyats dels escenaris durant deu anys, la presentació de noves cançons
de Tindersticks, o l’experiència irrepetible d’escoltar Public Enemy reinterpretant, de principi
a fi, la seva obra més cèlebre, It take a nation of millions to hold us back, quan tot just es
compleixen dues dècades des de la seva aparició.
La celebració d’aquest festival suposa també una ocasió única per veure per primera vegada a la
nostra ciutat Young Marble Giants, després de trenta anys de carrera, o The Sonics, que es
reagrupen després de quatre dècades per fer una gira europea, amb parada a Barcelona. És a
més, una bona oportunitat per escoltar els nous discos de bandes catalanes com Madee, La
Estrella de David, Les Aus, It’s not not, Gentle Music Men o Bèstia Ferida, un trio de
guitarra, bateria i trompeta nascut de l’underground barceloní.
Els directes dels excèntrics Devo, els esbojarrats Animal Collective, el pop tribal i desenfrenat
de El Guincho i les noves sensacions britàniques, de la mà de Fanfarlo i Strange Death of
Liberal England, tot en un mateix espai. Una darrera curiositat: Glen Hansard i Marketa
Irglova interpretaran en directe Falling slowly, composició amb la qual han guanyat l’Oscar
2008 per a la millor cançó.
Aquesta guia recull el fons discogràfic que es troba disponible, per escoltar o emportar-se en
préstec, a les biblioteques públiques de la ciutat de tots aquells artistes que actuaran durant el
festival.
