What Is A Blog ?

A blog (a derivative of “web” and “log”) is
essentially an online diary, where anyone with
a basic knowledge of computers can post
anything – random thoughts, photos,
homework, and poetry, just to name a few–
for the rest of the world to see.
What Is A Blog ?

Blogs range in scope from individual diaries
to political campaigns, media programs, and
businesses. They range in scale from the
writings of one occasional author (known as
a blogger), to the collaboration of a large
community of writers.
What Is A Blog ?

Many blogs enable visitors to leave public
comments, which can lead to a community of
readers centred around the blog. Hence, the
totality of weblogs or blog-related websites is
known as a “blogosphere.”

The Advantages Of Using Blogs
             In Education
 It’s a dump of your knowledge :

A blog is a perfect example of how to keep
track of what you learn. You can write the key
points of what you learned today, and revisit
them after one month or after one year.

The Advantages Of Using Blogs
             In Education
 It forces you to ask questions :

When you are learning by doing, you will
encounter difficulties and concepts that were
not obvious at first. When you write down your
thoughts you will be addressing those
concerns, offering solutions and tips to your
    readers .

The Advantages Of Using Blogs
             In Education
 It gives you motivation :

example : reading one of the most
challenging books on computer science, SICP.

The Advantages Of Using Blogs
             In Education
 It shows what you’re able to do:

When you’re just learning a subject you
don’t want to show the world your mistakes
right? So what’s the point of blogging about it?
Because it shows that you’re a real person, and
that you are willing to expand and improve
your knowledge. Nobody expects you to be an
expert when you are first starting out .

The Advantages Of Using Blogs
         In Education

 Makes learning independent of time
                         and place .
 Encourages learners to be active.
 Helps learners improve their writing
                         cometencies.
 Capture changes in thinking .
