Infrastructure development project comprise of the following stages
7. Infrastructure Project – Wet Utilities Work
STAGE 1: Master Planning Support and Data Collection
• Collection and review of all the available data including topographic
maps, geological maps, existing land use, climatic data and existing
utilities etc.
• Preparation of existing utilities inventory including (data collection,
review and site appraisal, utility authority liaison - RFI’s)
• Assessment for the condition and loads on the existing facilities and
identify requirements for upgrade, diversion, protection…etc
• Demands assessment for the new development under consideration.
• Preparation and submission of an Inception Report for client review
and approval
12. Infrastructure Project – Wet Utilities Work
STAGE 2: Concept Design
• Development of design strategy and options.
• Evaluation of alternatives and cost estimate analysis.
• Setting up the Utilities Design Standards and Criteria.
• Fixing of the utility corridors for different ROWs of roads as per the
services authorities requirements.
• Preparation of utilities concept design drawings including the
preliminary size and locations of the primary infrastructure
(reservoirs, pumping stations, RO and STP plants, sub stations etc)
and concept network layouts
• Preparation and submission of Concept Design Report
15. Infrastructure Project – Wet Utilities Work
STAGE 3: Preliminary Design
• Firming up the systems layout plans.
• Hydraulic design and sizing of systems (usually by means computer
programs for hydraulic design and analysis).
• Preliminary civil, M&E and structural design of primary structures like
reservoirs, pumping stations etc and setting up the design parameters
for RO plants and STP.
• Preparation of preliminary drawings (Layouts and Details)
• Quantity survey and preliminary cost estimates.
• Preparation of Preliminary Design Report
17. Infrastructure Project – Wet Utilities Work
STAGE 4: Detail Design
• Finalization of the layout in exact corridor
• Conflict resolution with other services
• Final hydraulic design and systems sizing
• Preparation of manhole schedules and profiles
• Detailed civil, M&E and structural designs for LS, PS, tanks and
Reservoir.
• Preparation of final detailed drawings
• Preparation of a Detailed Design Report
20. Infrastructure Project – Wet Utilities Work
STAGE 5: Tender
• Quantity surveys and preparation of Bill of Quantities.
• Preparation of technical specifications.
• Specialty equipments or items, such as packaged STP or RO plants
• Preparation of Tender Documents.
• Invitation for Tenders
