A successful business needs a passion driven product or service which serves the need of the customer and is available at the right time.
Just about 50 years back! Television use to have people’s un divided attention.
But now the landscape has changed! Because of information overload we are experiencing filter failure. An average American is hit by 300,000 marketing message per day! How do companies stand out?
Prior to the internet, the last technology that had real effect on the way people sat down and talked together was The Table!
With busy lifestyles today consumers are using social tools to look for information and social proof.
.Some of the statistics of 2 powerful social tool. An average 60% of the population of UAE uses Google to search for information before buying any product or service!
2.9m people over the age of 25 spend from about 20 mins to 2 hours daily on facebook! Plus Facebook gives you the facility to target precisely to the audience your are looking for!I will share with an example of recently page we launched for a new Indian School opening here called Spring Dales. Our Target market was Indian Parents living in dubai with children. All we did was used the language targetting to reach our audience and in less then a week the school started getting flooded with inquiries.
How many of here check social profiles on linked in or websites before meeting a potential client?
A business depends on revenue which comes from More Sales, for which you need more customers or sell more to the same customer. Traditional methods to get more customers would be cold calls or cold visits. But again you are limited by time and people. We have 24 hours in a day of which we work only 10.
However even when you are sleeping your website sells for you.
If you are a new Startup or a Growing a business I would recommend to invest in 4 things forInvest in a good website. Don’t forget to have a blog linked in your websiteGet found on Google Be in touch by Email by sharing Quality ContentAnd Engage on Facebook!
Optimize your home page with a lead generation form, proper navigation, relevant headings and don’t forget social proof that is the link to your facebook page. By just putting the facebook like box on the website has shown 40% increase in conversion rates!
People say Email Dead. No. Email is the last in the path to conversion. Approximately 294 billion messages are sent each day This total excludes 106 billion messages that can be defined as spam. Do you know there are nearly 3 times as many email accounts as there are facebook and twitter accounts. The total posts on facebook and Twitter combined add up to 0.2% of all email traffic. The total number of searches on Google, Yahoo and Bing, equals to just 1.1% of all email traffic. The total number of all pages views on the internet equals 25% of total emails sent. Nearly 4 times as many emails are sent each day as the total number of facebook and twitter updates, google/yahoo/bing searches and internet page views combined.
Its not about how many fans are following you. Its about about of them are talking about you. As its only those talking about fans are seeing your messages. In 2012 facebook launched promoted posts, by which you could reach out to all your fans..however I would still recommend increasing engagement by quality posts.
I would also like to touch upon that in 2012 brand were trying to be every where on all channels! Rather than trying to be everywhere it is best to be on channels where your target audience is!
2012 was the year of Pinterest and Instagram. Both Platform showed that average web user loves consuming images! Use images to generate Interaction
In 2013 we will see brands interacting with influencers to attract quality fans to their pages. In a recent valentines contest Address Spa offer with the page was shared more than 362 times with 51 comments and 75+ Likes..Find the influencers in your field and get the help to spread the word around about your product or service by collaborating.
Combine offline and online. We will be seeing in 2013 brands integrating social media with offline events. I work with Emaar hospitality and they do tweetups regularly to promote their restaurants in various hotel properties where they have seen fantastic turn around and great brand awareness!
Create your voice. Become the wiikipedia of your industry an share that quality content with your audience thus build a community
100% Mobile Penetration in UAE. Of which about 58% have Internet enabled mobiles and smart phones. Searches made through mobile phones grew 200%. I can go on and on about the stats. Again Emaar Hospitality has made various apps like downtown, dubai mall, reel cinemas. Most of the cinemas in UAE like Grand Cinemas, Vox are using mobile apps and
Video Marketing. Video is one of the fastest growing segments in the world. Video is better than a boring text pge! We are aware of power what of Viral videos can bring to a brand! A lot of politicians and coaches like Robin sharma, Brian Tracy and more promote their programs and books by vblogs..As a small business you can create videos using the camera you have like the iphones or samsungs for case studies, your events, testimonials of your clients I have done this a lot for my spa clients and you can see that on SpaGenie you tube channel. And you can then use social media to promote the video..I was with the marketing head of Google as one of our core services is lead generation using landing pages and sqeeze pages while we work with google team. The marketing head at google asked me 2 questions to get ready for 2013! He is like, so Namita …whats your Mobile strategy and video strategy for 2013? I would like to end my presentation on this note. Thanks you.
And finally I would like to say that invest time in creating quality content to share with your audience and build a following or community which will ensure smooth flow of customers and thus increased profits.
