How to cook the Greek "PASTITSIO"

1. Lets cook the famous Greek dish Pastitsio 1 st Secondary School of Alexandria - GREECE

4. We peel and chop the onion

5. We put some olive oil in a saucepan and add the chopped onion

6. After the onion has become golden brown we add the minced beef

7. We stir the minced beef along with the chopped tomatoes, salt and pepper for 30 minutes

9. We boil the pasta

10. We spread half of the quantity at the bottom of the metal tray

11. We add the minced beef on top of the pasta in a second layer

12. We add the cheese

13. and then the rest of the pasta in a third layer

15. We mix the butter with the corn flour in a saucepan (medium heat)

16. We add the hot milk and we mix the mixture constantly so as not to form knots

17. We withdraw the saucepan from the heat. We add the yolk of an egg and mix well

18. We spread the besamel. along the whole surface

19. We sprinkle some grated cheese and breadcrumbs

20. We bake the food in moderate oven ( 180 O C ) for about 30 – 40 minutes until the cream gets golden brown.
